Hello, I’m Natalie
I’m a family historian, writer, volunteer and incurably curious person who enjoys uncovering forgotten stories from the past. When I’m not delving into archives or writing about my ancestors, I can usually be found working on community projects, exploring local history, or wondering where life’s next adventure will lead.
Unfortunately, one of those adventures wasn’t one I’d planned.
Following a breast cancer diagnosis, I found myself spending rather more time in hospital than I’d ever expected. During my stay, I decided to create this blog – not because I have any answers, but because writing has always helped me process life’s twists and turns.
You’ll find honest reflections here: hospital stays, treatment, recovery, the emotional rollercoaster, moments of humour, acts of kindness, and everything in between. There won’t be any sugar-coating, but I hope there will always be honesty and hope.
The title, This Too Shall Pass, reminds me that even the hardest chapters eventually become part of our story rather than the whole story.
Thank you for reading. I hope you’ll find something here that makes you smile, think, or simply feel a little less alone.
