Finding hope, one day at a time

Never saw that coming πŸ˜±

After an unexpected emergency overnight stay… I survived the night! (Always a good start to any day, I think!)

I was admitted with kidney failure and sepsis following my first round of chemotherapy, which wasn’t quite how I imagined this week would go.

Thankfully, the care has been excellent, and I will be transferred to the specialist cancer ward for a few days while they get everything back under control.

The “ward” I’m currently in is actually a repurposed office area. There are no shower or washing facilities – just a disabled toilet along the corridor – but there’s a window above my trolley. It overlooks a rather impressive patch of weeds… or perhaps they’re wildflowers? Either way, it’s a little bit of greenery and fresh air, and I’m choosing to count that as a win.

The plan now is specialist care, plenty of fluids, antibiotics, and hopefully a few days of TLC before I’m back on track.
